SAP HCM LANDSCAPE

It’s a complicated time in SAP HCM. Things have changed more in the past 3 years than they have in the previous 20.

The SAP® ERP HCM module already known for its complexity, specifically its challenge with regards to reporting, has now grown more complex with the advent of Fiori, HR Renewal and SuccessFactors™. Clients for the first time are having to grapple with questions about their landscape models including on-premise, core hybrid, talent hybrid, full cloud, etc. as well as the technology platforms on which they reside.

Unlike other SAP modules, SAP ERP HCM has a large number of sub-modules including Payroll, Personnel Administration, Benefits, Organizational Management, and Time Management to name just a few. Each of these solutions has its own unique reporting requirements and considerations. Familiarity with the different reporting solutions and understanding which application tools are designed for which functional areas has often been a challenge.

Of the approximate 14 000 customers licensed for SAP HCM many have begun their journey to the cloud. Whilst on this journey it is important to know that you have access to the data you need, whether it is in SAP, SuccessFactors or an external solution.
